The Department of Education and Human Development offers M.A. and Ph.D. degree programs in higher education, as well as Ph.D. degree program in foundations of education. The department provides a variety of courses, including higher education, philosophy of education, sociology of education, psychology of education, history of education, and educational research methods. Strong in cross-disciplinary research, the department has developed a research style that integrates theory, research, and practice. Over the years, several research teams have been formed, and their research covers theory and history of higher education, comparative and international higher education, and fundamental theories of education. The recent research projects have been centered on development of research universities, graduate education, and teacher education.
