  Ran Zhang is an associate professor in the Graduate School of Education, Peking University, China. She received an LL.B. from Peking University Law School in 2000 and a double major Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies and Educational Psychology from Indiana University in 2009. She was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Harvard University during the 2018-2019 academic year.

  Her research interests include educational law, comparative education, private education, equal protection, and qualitative methods. In 2022, she received a National Social Science Foundation Grant to study how colleges and universities address sexual harassment. She is a certified expert of Qualitative data analysis software NVivo 11 and NVivo 12. Her MOOC on school law won two PRC Ministry of Education awards. She also received the Peking University Excellent Teaching Award in 2022.
