Theme of the Workshop
Global Responses and Future: International Education Development in the post Covid-19 Era
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused huge disruption to international education development. Online educational technology boomed during the epidemic, but the expanding digital divide has also brought new challenges to education equity. How to further increase the access to education, improve the quality and equity of education calls for the voices of young scholars.
With the strong support of Center for Language Education and Cooperation, we invite doctoral students to participate in a workshop entitled “Global Responses and Future: International Education Development in the post Covid-19 Era” taking place both online and offline on Saturday, November 5 2022. This workshop will bring Chinese scholars and international students together to discuss the future trends, challenges and opportunities in the educational development, innovation and global responses to promote cultural exchanges and to help achieve Nine Ideas for Public Action presented by the UNESCO and a human community with a shared future.
We strongly encourage empirical papers in the following topics but is not limited to:
- Access to Education
- Equity and Quality in Education
- Collaborative innovation between education and society
- Education Technology and Adaptation under COVID-19
- Teacher Training and Collaboration
- Remote Learning During the Pandemic
- ICT for Education Development, Equity and Changes
- Trends and Issues in International Student Mobility
- Country, Education and Market

Format and Time of the Workshop
The format of the workshop will be blended with both face-to-face and virtual options. The activities during the workshop include:
(1) Sharing and discussion of excellent academic papers
(2) Student panel session
(3) Discussion session joined by reviewers, scholars and journal editors in related fields at home and abroad
The workshop is expected to be held at the Graduate School of Education, Peking University on November 5, 2022. We will disseminate information about the online options as we get closer to the event.
No fees will be charged for conference participants.
Information on Research Prizes
The workshop organizing committee will invite renowned scholars to form an academic committee to review and select excellent papers from the submitted papers through double-blinded review. The first authors of those excellent papers will receive research awards according to their ratings of the academic committee.

Requirements on the Submission to the Workshop
The first author of the article should be a doctoral student. The approval of other co-authors is needed before the submission. Article should not normally exceed 10,000 words (excluding footnotes). Please refer to the submission guidelines of “Peking University Education Review” (paper in Chinese language) and “Economics of Education Review” (paper in English language) for format requirement.
We accept email submission for the workshop. The attached pdf or word document should be named as "title + name + major + contact information". The deadline for submission is October 9, 2022. Successful submission will receive an email confirmation within one week.
