PGSE 2016 Teaching Symposium Held
On July 8, 2016, the 2016 Teaching Symposium of Graduate School of Education, Peking University (PGSE), was held successfully in the Lecture Hall of GSE Building. The symposium was themed with the current situation and problems of graduate education at GSE, and focused on the current situation, existing problems, international experience and measures in terms of education of master and doctoral students at PGSE. The meeting was chaired by Dean Prof. Chen Xiaoyu and Associate Dean (teaching) Prof. Yue Changjun.
The directors of four departments introduced the current situation and problems of master education respectively. The heads of four PhD programs and Ed.D. program introduced that of doctoral education. These issues sparked heated discussion among participants. Dr. Guo Wenge, an associate professor of PGSE gave a presentation of teaching experience, titled as “A Growing Course: The Foundation of Educational Technology”, and shared her teaching experience of this course.

Prof. Chen Xiaoyu, Dean of PGSE, elaborated the development situation and reform ideas on the cultivation of students in PGSE in the perspectives of situation, opportunities and challenges, and highlighted the existing problems and challenges on the issues of talents cultivation.
PGSE holds the teaching symposium in summer every year to discuss how to improve the course teaching as well as the quality of talents cultivation. The 2016 Teaching Symposium embraced substantial contents and active atmosphere, and laid a solid foundation for further improvement on graduate education.
