'Current Situation, Challenge, and Future of Upper Secondary Education' Forum Held

From June 18 to 19, 2016, the founding meeting of the Branch of Upper Secondary Education, Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy and the Forum On Current Situation, Challenge and Future of Upper Secondary Education was held at Peking University. Almost 500 high school principals, experts and scholars from all over the country gathered to have profound discussions on “Current Situation, Positioning, and Challenge of Upper Secondary Education”, “How to Connect Upper Secondary Education with Higher Education”, “Reform Direction and Development Trend of the New College Entrance Examination”, and “Development Positioning of the Branch of Upper Secondary Education”.

Prof. Min Weifang, president of Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy (CSEDS), former chairman of Council of Peking University, and honorary dean of Graduate School of Education of PKU, gave a speech, pointing out that it was of great significance to promote earnestly the balanced development of the basic education, realize the effective connection between higher education and upper secondary education, and systematically study the major strategic matters and policy issues about upper secondary education.

 On behalf of PKU, Prof. Gao Song, vice-president of Peking University and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, congratulated on the success of the forum and the establishment of the Branch of Upper Secondary Education, and expected the branch to make a significant difference in promoting innovation and reform of Chinese education.
